The Atlas can tow as much as 5,000 lbs when paired with the 3.6L V6 engine and properly equipped with the factory tow hitch. This pairing is available with the VW Atlas SE Tech R-Line, SE Tech, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium and SEL Premium R-Line trims. All of these trim levels come with standard 8-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic® and Sport mode, which grants drivers peace of mind, no matter what they tow.

The standard 2.0L TSI®, 16-valve, DOHC, in-line-4cylinder turbocharged engine generates 235 hp. Ground clearance of the VW Atlas is 8 inches. While hitting the trails might not be a part of your daily drive, the added flexibility of 8-inches of ground clearance can still prove useful around town. Steep parking lot entrances and large speed humps will be no match for your Atlas.
