Kelley Blue Book Reviews the Volkswagen Atlas
The Atlas marks the first midsize 3-row SUV from Volkswagen, and it was worth the wait according to a recent Kelley Blue Book expert review. Featuring an excellent warranty and low initial price, the Atlas offers the Volkswagen touches you’ve come to expect such as European-inspired driving and a technology-laden cabin. The reviewer noted that with an easily accessible third row and fold flat seats, the Atlas offers strong competition to established models like the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder and Ford Explorer.
The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas SUV may well have the roomiest and most easily accessed third row in the class, providing ample seating for seven passengers. But don’t think that this extra room makes the vehicle too big to handle comfortably; it’s smaller than other vehicles in its class, with an easy-to-access cargo area and an optional power tailgate.
Innovative interior design provides the extra room that you and your passengers will enjoy. The 60/40-split second-row seating reclines and can slide up to 7.7-inches back and forth, and folds in a manner that allows a child safety seat to stay in place even while someone is entering or exiting the third row. Perhaps most importantly, when both the second- and third-row seats are folded down, the cargo space is legitimately flat.
Standard features on the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas include Apply CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, two-zone climate control, six airbags, automatic post-collision braking and Volkswagen’s Intelligent Crash Response System.
